How Does Zilactin- Work?

Zilactin is a lifesaver when I get a cold sore! It's a bit tingly when you first apply it, but that goes away quickly. The best part is that it really helps to shorten the healing time. My cold sores usually last about a week, but with Zilactin, they seem to fade in about half the time. It also helps to keep the sores from getting too painful and crusty. I keep a tube on hand at all times.

Zilactin did help numb the tingling and pain of my cold sore, which was a relief. However, it left this weird, waxy film on my lip that felt like it was constantly peeling. I also noticed it seemed to make my lips a bit drier than usual. It wasn't a deal-breaker, as the pain relief was significant, but it wasn't the most pleasant experience.

I wouldn't recommend Zilactin to anyone. It caused a horrible burning sensation on my lip that was worse than the cold sore itself! I had to wash it off immediately, and the rash around the cold sore actually got worse. I'm really disappointed, as I was hoping for something to help me through this outbreak.

I've tried a lot of different cold sore treatments over the years, and Zilactin is by far my favorite. It's gentle enough for sensitive skin, and it really works to shrink the sore and reduce the appearance of the blister. It doesn't completely eliminate the symptoms, but it makes a huge difference. It's a must-have in my medicine cabinet!
